Richard Yu is a British entrepreneur and is the inventor of the long hot water bottle design, called the YuYu Bottle. The long hot water bottle was granted a design registration by the World Intellectual Property Organisation in 43 countries on April 2, 2012. In March 2013, he appeared on the television show . Yu was previously International Sales Director at Wikia Inc., where he worked directly for founder Jimmy Wales. He came up with his invention a year later and continued to work at Wikia until he resigned to work solely on his invention in July 2014. In December 2015 Carole Middleton was seen purchasing the product at the British retailer William & Son. In January 2016, Amanda Cable wrote in a Daily Mail Online article that the product was a "marriage saver".<ref name="dailymail.co.uk"/> |
