Rey Casas

Reinaldo E. Casas (born June 19th, 1961) is a Cuban pianist and composer.

Biography
Early years
Casas was born in Havana, Cuba to Reinaldo and Maria Casas. His great-grandfather Luis Casas Romero was one of the pioneers of Cuban radio broadcasting as well as a musician and a poet. At age seven this youngster took his first piano lessons from his uncle, professor and orchestral conductor Rafael Casas Romero. Six years later, his family traveled to Spain with a short stopover in the United States, where he came under the tutelage of Francisco Huerta and Miguel Cruz. As a teenager he composed his first song titled "Abuelo" which was dedicated to his grandfather Enrique Torres. On July 29th, 1976 he met his wife Ana with whom he has two children: Johann and Joanna.

Musical career
Rey has shared the stage with Paquito D’Rivera, Jose Jose, Olga Guillot, Nelson Ned, Lucho Gatica, and others. He has written music for telenovelas such as Morelia, Guadalupe and Maria Elena. In early 2007 he launched his own label, Galaxy Entertainment, Inc., which consists of more than 25 albums and more than 300 themes to which he will be adding his latest album Armonia.
