Maserati X

Xavier Mance (born May 16, 1990), better known by his stage name Maserati X, is an American Rapper currently signed to Royal World Ent./The Island Def Jam Motown Music Group. Rati was born in Chicago, Illinois. He doesn't know his father but is told that he was a musician who played numerous instruments. By 5, Rati found out that he had a passion for music after playing with his older brothers and performing for his family, that's when he got into the business by making freestyle beats for people to rap to by beating on lunch tables. Rati won talent shows and performed at his neighborhood fest. His path to success seemed relatively straightforward, especially at age 14 when he recorded a small ep and it found its way to Big House Records and they signed him to their music label. While with the label, Rati had success and found his new nitch of songwriting and written numerous songs for unsigned artist, making a name for himself in the underground world. Becoming upset with the label he demanded that focus on him and put his album out or release him; they let him go.
As Rati got older so did his passion for music, wanting to be the best he began to study older artist as well as the artist of today which helped him develop the laid-back, calm, active rapper. By the age of 15, he had 2 mixtapes out The Pass Out Effect and Young Royalty which both did well in his neighborhood creating a buzz for him which lead to him opening up at Chicago's House of Blues for other artist. After his performances people say that he has the smart, well put together, artistic style of flow as fellow rapper Fabolous. He says it is nice to be compared to Fab because he thinks of his style as a mixture of Snoop Dogg’s swag, Jay-Z’s business mind, Kanye West’s attitude, T.I.’s style, Swizz Beatz’s energy, Juelz Santana’s hustle, Fabolous’ delivery, and Wale’s ambitions put together.
Early life
Mance was born in Chicago, IL on May 16, 1990 and is the third oldest of four siblings. His stage name comes from his love for the italian made car company Maserati and the X is from his first name. Unlike a normal kid growing up in Chicago, X moved at the end of every year forcing him to adapt to new surroundings and make new friends at new schools. His family found their way to Maywood, IL where X attended numerous elementary schools and attended Proviso East High School where he met and hung around Shannon Brown (current guard for the LA Lakers, Dee Brown (current guard for Italy overseas), and former football teammate Sergio Brown (current Safety for the New England Patriots).
Alongside of one of his older brothers, X started making music as a joke talking about food and drinks and pointed out how early on R&B singer Lloyd use to always mention that he was hungry in records. He decided to take his music career serious when a close friend heard him singing in their classroom and told him that he had a nice voice and that see him growing up doing something in the music biz, ever since then he's been working to get his foot in the door. He recorded a few sample tracks which found their way into the hands of record label Big House Records, where X started his career as an artist.
Career
2000-2004: Early career and The Pass Out Effect
Maserati X started to write songs non-stop and performing anywhere he could. His older brother and step-dad would have their own preferred music taste from Tupac to LL Cool J, all of which influenced his writing. Given DMX's It's Dark & Hell Is Hot album he studied the way he put together verses and how the tracks on the album would flow together, once learned he would go to his own notebooks and note pads picking out songs of his own to put together his own cd. Using the popular sound from artist that's out X started to put his lyrics to their beats creating his mixtape, the single "Born Success" is a cover of Clipse's single "Grindin'". The mixtape did well selling 300 copies which wasn't bad for an 10-11 kid and prompting him to work harder on his next project
2005-2008: Young Royalty
By this time around was X's second chance to out due himself in sells due to all of the newly released music and newly found popularity in high school.
