Relay Ventures

Relay Ventures is a Canadian venture capital firm with offices on Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park and Toronto. The firm is focused on investing in early-stage mobile ventures throughout North America.
The Firm
The firm has raised over $800 million since inception, and is currently investing their eight fund, a $150 million fund launched in 2011. Investors in the fund include North Leaf Capital Partners, Corus Entertainment, Thomson Reuters and BlackBerry.
Since 1996, Relay Ventures has made 84 venture investments and exited 42 through M&A and IPO.
Relay Ventures was formed through the merger of two venture capital firms - JLA Ventures and Clairmont Capital (formerly RBC Venture Partners). At the time, both firms co-managed the first independent mobile venture fund that operated under the BlackBerry Partners Fund name. Formerly, the firm was known as ATP Capital which managed the BlackBerry Partners Fund and JLA Ventures.
The firm was co-founded by Kevin Talbot and John Albright.
In 2011, Relay Ventures was the first Canadian venture capital firm to open a US office in Menlo Park. The firm actively supports Canadian entrepreneurship through affiliate programs including: The Next 36, DMZ, GrowLab and Extreme Startups. Relay Ventures is also a member of the C100 a non-profit organization that helps Canadian entrepreneurs find partners, mentors and financing in the Silicon Valley.
Between January 2009 and February 2012, Relay invested in more mobile and wireless companies than any firm except Sequoia Capital and Intel Capital,
