Randy Schwartz

Randy Schwartz (born August 18, 1980) is the lead percussionist for Brett Dennen. Schwartz met Dennen in Santa Cruz, California, in 2003, and the two began collaborating on songs that were eventually recorded for Dennen's self-titled debut album, released in 2005. Schwartz's percussion influences range from Carter Beauford (of The Dave Matthews Band) to Billy Martin (of Medeski Martin & Wood) to John Fishman (of Phish), and his style is often characterized as a fusion of jazz, rock, and bluegrass.
Schwartz was born in Torrance, California, and graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz, in 2003.
During his years at UCSC, Randy was drummer for the legendary UCSC rock band IllumiNation.
