Alamela

Alamela (born 5th of November 1990, in Melbourne, Victoria) is an Australian model, featured as a standout contestant on season 4 of 'Australia's Next Top Model'. The 'Byron Bay beauty' has an impressive body of work spanning modelling, acting, and veterinary nursing, and has continued to model internationally since graduating from Byron Bay High School in 2008.
Australia's Next Top Model
Alamela quickly established herself as a positive role model for many young girls on the reality TV program when episode four exposed the bullying attacks against her, led by fellow contestant Demelza Reveley. The extensive negative media coverage this controversy received and the subsequent public outcry, prompted the producers to air a message before episode five stating that the team behind 'Australia's Next Top Model' did not support nor condone the bullying behavior of Demelza Reveley and friends. Since then, it has been alleged that the show did not properly handle the behavior of Reveley and the other contestants. It has also been stated that FOX8 downplayed the events, with reports that in addition to the attacks that were televised, Reveley put condoms filled with mayonnaise in Alamela's bed and chili in her breakfast cereal. Although Demelza has claimed to have apologized several times to Alamela, the sincerity of her apology at the 'Australia's Next Top Model Finale' caused many viewers to question her motives.
Career
At the 'Australia's Next Top Model Finale' Alamela was one of only three contestants chosen to walk the runway for the debut of 'Project Runway Australia'. Since the conclusion of 'Australia's Next Top Model' Alamela has modeled for 'British Hairdresser of the Year' Angelo Seminara and was featured on the 'Sydney Hair Expo 2008' official website. She also did a photoshoot for Antonia Paris gowns with renowned Australian photographer Amanda Lim. Alamela was featured in the Party Summer collection of Miss Unkon and was offered a position teaching catwalk at the Byron Bay Fashion Festival. Since the completion of her 'Higher School Certificate' Alamela has begun modelling internationally and was recently featured in an advertisment across Asia and Africa for the new 'Lipton Tea, Green Tea' range.
