Quinn DNA Project

Quinn DNA Project is a genetic engineering project in the realm of Genetic Genealogy. It was created by Nevil Quinn as the Quinn Septs DNA Project at Family Tree DNA (January 2007), and was run by Dr. Nevil Quinn, PhD. Its notable contributions relate to identifying the major Y-DNA septs for the Cuinn surname.
History
The project was founded by Nevil Quinn. The Quinn DNA Project facilities were originally a small part of the surname projects at Family Tree DNA. The implementation of the identified information would later become quite important. By mid 2011 solicitations were made over the course of 9 months for a new project administrator. On February 27, 2012 T. Allen Quinn officially accepted all responsibilities for managing the DNA surname project and bringing new membership to the project. Since February 2012 the project has doubled in size and now presents information to the subscribers on a wide range of online mediums.
In January 2013 the project revised its output to become a part of the World Families project.
The Project
The Quinn DNA Project is a sub-component of the Family Tree DNA volunteer network for surname projects worldwide providing free analysis of Y-DNA and mtDNA for the purpose of assisting individuals seeking to understand their ancient DNA.
