Dr. Davis has extensive experience in repairing traumatic ventral wall hernias. A traumatic abdominal wall hernia rarely presents following blunt trauma, but should be suspected following a high-impact motor vehicle collision. Frequently, repair is complicated by the need to have fixation of mesh to bony landmarks (eg, iliac crest). In spite of this challenge, the laparoscopic approach with tension-free mesh repair of a traumatic abdominal wall hernia can be accomplished successfully using an approach similar to that taken for laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair. . Davis has also mastered the laparoscopic resection of lesser curve gastrointestinal stromal tumors. GIST tumors are rare and benign tumors of the GI tract. Surgical resection is usually curative. Family Davis and his wife Danielle Leonard met at Morehouse College in 1992, where Davis played basketball and Leonard was a cheerleader; they married in 2009. Danielle holds an B.A. degree from Spelman College. Davis has one step-daughter, Arielle Leonard. Publications * (2012) K.Wilson, M.Davis, J.Rosser.
