Eduard Davis (born August 13, 1964) is an American fashion designer and CEO of Urban Legend and Karma PCT. His collections, for men and women, include thermal tops, hoodies, t-shirts, dresses, bikinis, and hat wear. Early life Davis was born Edward Davis in Toledo, Ohio. While attending, and ultimately graduating from, Rogers High School in Toledo, he also took classes in fashion merchandising at nearby Start High School, earning an award at that school in fashion design and marketing. Upon graduating from high school in 1983, he was awarded a full scholarship to study fashion merchandising at Owens Technical College. Influenced by the advice of an uncle who told Davis that it would be difficult to earn a living in the fashion industry, he dropped out of Owens before the end of his freshman year. Over the course of the following twelve months, Davis was fired from eight jobs. Davis enlisted in the US Army in 1985. Stationed in Europe, he served for three years. In 1988, remaining overseas, he enrolled in the American College of London to study fashion merchandising and modeling. Returning to Ohio in 1989, and using the GI bill, Davis enrolled full-time at the University of Toledo. To help pay for college, he worked, first, as a corrections officer and later as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Toledo. He earned an associate's degree in social services ('91) and a bachelor's degree in business marketing ('94). Career In the early 1990s, Davis worked briefly in music management, managing several major commercial music artists, including Joe Little III and The Rude Boys. In 2005, encouraged by fashion designer Karl Kani, Davis started developing his own clothing line: custom cut apparel featuring a “burnout effect” that is created by treating the cotton/polyester blend fabric with a rust solution which promotes a distressed look. With his former girlfriend, Antoinette King, Davis opened Karma Designs, a women's couture t-shirt company based in Atlanta. He also founded a men’s company, Urban Legend, which hosted his collection of thermals, hoodies and t-shirts. In 2010, Karma PCT introduced a line of bikinis. In 2011, Davis developed a line of hat wear. Clothing line promotion Karma PCT clothing has been worn by numerous celebrities, including Wendy Wiltz from America's Next Top Model, Grammy Award-winning singer Ciara, and singer-actress Ashlee Simpson. Urban Legend clothing has been worn by rappers T.I. and Snoop Dogg, singer Usher, members of the R&B music group Day26, WEC mixed martial artist Urijah Faber, and boxer Zab Judah. The Karma Designs clothing line was mentioned in the 2007 Wendy Williams novel Is the Bitch Dead or What? Davis was a contributing author to the 2007 book Pimpology: The 48 Laws of the Game by Pimpin' Ken. The Urban Legend clothing line was featured in the 2010 movie , starring Luke Wilson. Davis was unaware of the usage of the line until the film was released.<ref name=autogenerated7 />
