Joseph Lani is a retired New York City Police detective sergeant, author, and psychic medium who uses the pseudonym The Ghost Cop. He is the author of the book Running With the Bulls: The Road to Fresh Kills, a Journey into the Paranormal. Lani has been featured on the Biography Channel, radio and Internet talk radio programs. Background Lani was a NYPD detective sergeant during the September 11 attacks on the world trade center. He was assigned as a supervisor in the debris fields at the Fresh Kills Landfill in Staten Island, New York, where debris from the attacks were transported in a search for human remains, personal effects and black boxes from the planes. Psychic medium Lani is a psychic medium and spirit medium who practices clairvoyance (clear seeing), clairaudience (clear hearing), and clairsentience (sensing the presence of a spirit). He believes he can communicate with the spirits of dead people and performs readings.
