Purkey is a surname that comes the word "Perahgoz," meaning "bear-Goth." if not earlier. Today, the name is uncommon, appearing most frequently in the northern-central United States. Perhaps the most famous Purkey is William Purkey, who is known for saying, "Dance like no one is watching, Love like you'll never be hurt, Sing like no one is listening, Live like it's heaven on earth." Another notable Purkey is Justin Purkey, a well known figure in the airline customer service industry best recognized for his catch phrase "Bad luck!".
