Prof. Hari Govind Choudhary

Prof Hari Govind Choudhary was the first Professor of Hindi in Bihar, India. He served as Professor of Hindi in TNB College at Bhagalpur, Bihar.
Family Background
Professor Hari Govind Choudhary was born in a village Beri, Kusheswar Asthaan, located in Darbhanga District of Bihar as an eldest son of Narayan Vallabh Choudhary. Brothers of Prof. Hari Govind Choudhary also contributed to the society through their valuable abilities. Ramapati Choudhary, Girivardhari Choudhary and Bhajleram Choudhary were three younger brothers of Prof. Hari Govind Choudhary. Ramapati Choudhary was not only a great poet of Maithili, Hindi and Sanskrit, but also served as a teacher at government school, Patna, Bihar. Girivardhari Choudhary was pupil of Mahatma Gandhi and spent his student life in Sabarmati Ashram with Mahatma Gandhi and was the only one person from Bihar Who accompanied Mahatma Gandhiji on The Dandi March under Civil Disobedience Movement. Bhajleram Choudhary was scholar of Astronomy.
Challenges Faced in Life
In spite of very poor financial condition of family, Prof. Hari Govind Choudhary proved his mettle and studied devotedly. Once he became Professor of TNB college (earlier TNJ College, one of the top college of Tilkamanjhi Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur, Bihar), he was the single bread and butter earner for his family.
