Granolo

A term commonly used to describe those who are considered hippies or crunchy and also of Hispanic origin.
Originally coined in Burlington, VT the term was quickly picked up in the Los Angeles area due to the high concentration of health conscious free thinkers sporting a Latino origin. Granolos fall into the growing category of Americans who are believers in organic food, fair trade goods, honest labor practices, coconut oil and possible living "off the grid".
A loose comparison for terms would be Cholo or Chola with the exception that Granolos don't like button up shirts or Morrisey and instead prefer hemp based cloting and Ani Defranco. A phrase you may hear would be "Check out that hot granolo at the Whole Foods on Boyle Heights."
