Port Brewing Company

Port Brewing Company is a craft brewery headquartered in San Marcos, California. Founded in 2006, it operates under two distinct labels: Port Brewing for its American-style beers and The Lost Abbey for its Belgian-inspired and barrel-aged specialty beers. The company produces beer in the former Stone Brewing Company facility, which it acquired when Stone relocated to Escondido, California.
History
In 2006, Pizza Port owners Vince and Gina Marsaglia expanded beer production by acquiring a brewing facility previously owned by Stone Brewing Company in San Marcos. This move significantly increased their brewing capacity, leading to the formation of Port Brewing Company, LLC.
Although Port Brewing originated from Pizza Port, it is now a completely separate company with independent brewing operations and management. While some beer names overlap (such as Hop 15 and Wipeout IPA), the two businesses have diverged in style and branding. Co-founder Tomme Arthur, who was formerly Pizza Port's head brewer, helped shape the brewery’s direction.
Port Brewing operates under two main labels:
* Port Brewing: Focused on American/West Coast-style beers, often packaged in 22-ounce bottles.
* Lost Abbey Specializes in Belgian-inspired ales and barrel-aged beers, packaged in 375ml and 750ml corked bottles.
Despite acquiring Stone Brewing’s former facility, Port Brewing and Stone Brewing are completely separate companies. While the San Marcos facility originally housed Stone Brewing, Port Brewing has since expanded it with new brewing systems, a barrel-aging program, and a large tasting room.
