PIRA Energy Group

PIRA Energy Group is an international energy-consulting and independent research firm offering data, analysis and forecasting on international oil, natural gas, and electricity markets. PIRA also covers the environmental and geopolitical issues effecting these markets.

PIRA provides services to over 8,000 users based out of 500 companies in over 50 countries around the world. They are based on New York City.

Clients subscribe to PIRA's services in a multitude of ways. Annual retainer clients pay a one time fee and are granted access to PIRA's research for the length of a year. Users can subscribe to receive specific multi-client studies, receive company specific attention through PIRA's Scenerio Planning Service, and participate in PIRA University.

Leadership

PIRA was founded in 1976 by Dr. Gary Ross, a leading authority on worldwide energy markets and energy policy issues. Gary Ross serves as PIRA's CEO, as well as the Director of the Global Oil Group. Dr. Ross is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a regular guest featured on CNN and CNBC. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the City University of New York.

The President of PIRA, Mark Schwartz, oversees the Scenario Planning Group -- the customized consulting facet of the company. Prior to PIRA, Schwartz was Chief Economist of ExxonMobil Corporation where he was responsible for developing the company's long-range economic and energy outlook.
