Pinewood Indomina Studios is a major film and television studio complex in the Dominican Republic. History Pinewood Indomina Studios was born out of a long-term agreement between The Pinewood Studios Group and the Indomina Group to build and operate a new film and television studio complex in the Dominican Republic. Pinewood will receive annual fees for its sales and management services and an equity participation which accrues over time from 2013. The construction is funded by the Indomina Group. Construction started on 23 February 2011. The ground breaking was ceremony led by the President of the Dominican Republic, Leonel Antonio Fernández Reyna. Initial operations are scheduled to start in 2012. Stages and facilities When completed the initial phase will have stage space to a total of 74,000 sq ft, split between four stages - two at 21,000 sq ft and two at 16,000 sq ft. One of the big advantages of Pinewood Indomina Studios will be the eight acre water effects facility, including a 55,000 sq ft Horizon Water Tank with blue screen capabilities and a fully equipped diving and marine department.
