Piano dave

Piano Dave (Born David Weissman on April 2 1987) is a pianist, singer and songwriter who first gained notoriety while performing on the streets of Nantucket, Massachusetts.

Biography

At the age of seven, Weissman began taking piano lessons at Rivers Music School in Weston, Massachusetts. It was there that he was first exposed to Jazz music, and only one year later began performing with various Jazz and Blues ensembles in the area. At twelve years of age he began as a street performer on Nantucket Island, which gave him the ability to entertain and command a crowd. Since then he has fronted several bands including Arcadia Road -- which won several "Battle of the Bands" including the WBCN/Berklee College of Music Battle held at the famous Harpers Ferry in Boston, MA.

Currently Piano Dave has been playing in bars and clubs around Boston and Nantucket, including the Club Car, Even Keel, and The Draft.

His soon-to-be-released album Thirty Miles Out was recorded on Nantucket, and includes 14 tracks of pop/rock/r&b original cuts. His music incorporates his traditional jazz training with his love for pop and rock music. The end result is a clever blend of clean rhythms, catchy melodies and full jazz and blues chording.

"I try to send the music in a direction you're not expecting it to go-- but at the same time I want you to be able to sing along the first time you hear it" says Weissman.
