Persian Apostolic Church is one of the ancient churches that traces its Apostolic origin from the apostles of Jesus Christ St. Thaddeus and St. Bartholomew who came to Persia to evangelize the people. In addition to that it goes back to the 3 ethnic group who were present among Jewish feast of Pentecost in the book of Act 2:9 who introduced themselves as Parthians, Medes and Elamites. They were from Persia who obviously going back formed small churches and started living as Christian in Persia. During the centuries Church suffered a lot by the attach of Islam and other countries and the church many time lost its hierarchy and bishops and they has to go to Assyrians and Armenians to rceive Episcopal consecration to remain in the Apostolic linage.
