Permanent Ability is an award-winning, original, American alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 2008. The band's lineup includes award-winning vocalist/founder Brian Lanese, lead guitarist Nick Gordon, award-winning bassist Steve Andino a.k.a. "Dino", formerly of , and drummer Gary Rinaldi. The band's musical style fuses funk with elements of other genres including alternative rock, punk rock, and rock music. The band has been recognized by ESPN and Pandora Radio. In 2008 the band's debut From the Womb to Hollywood EP featuring George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic bassist Lige Curry. The record sold successfully and includes fan favorites "Little Black Bra", "Hey Now" and "Randall's Parking Lot", ultimately winning them in the voting categories the Best Male Frontman Award and the Best Male Bassist Award by Rock City News Hollywood. In April 2010, the band recorded a six track EP Produced by Jim Wirt whose credits include bands such as: Incubus, Hoobastank, Jacks Mannequin, No Doubt, and amongst many others. The name of the record was changed during mastering when the band could agree on a name. Brian and Jim Wirt had a best of three coin toss to choose which song would be first on the record Shades of Gray or Bring It On! Brian won with his pick being Shade of Gray, and to honor Jim's pick the band titled the record Bring It On!.
