On February 24, 2011, the New York Federalist Party was established in New York State to support a congressional bid by David Bellavia, a Conservative Republican with Tea Party support. Bellavia had the official support of the New York Tea Party for that run The founding members of the New York Federalist Party were Medal of Honor nominee David Bellavia, Michael Caputo, Bill Hagan, and Dr. Jeffery Maxon. Bellavia submitted approximately 3,600 signatures for the seat on the "Federalist Party" line.
