Perimeter E-Security

SilverSky is a managed security services provider and information security company headquartered in Milford, Connecticut. SilverSky operates seven geographically distributed technical operations centers and three redundant datacenters. Before January 31, 2013, SilverSky did business as Perimeter E-Security and USA.NET. In addition to the announcement of the SilverSky rebrand, the company also announced the release of the industry's most comprehensive Email Protection Suite including SilverSky’s flagship email data loss prevention (DLP) solution.
History
In 1997, Andrew Greenawalt founded Cybergnostic, a managed network and security services company. Cybergnostic was an early instance of a centralized security platform along with the now defunct Pilot.net. This model of centralized security as a service later became known as 'security in the cloud' for which SilverSky now has US Patent 7,891,001. This invention is attributed to Andrew Greenawalt, Joel Nimety, and Ron Fritz.
In 2000, Richard Dobrow, Tom Neclerio, and Brian Otte co-founded Guarded Networks, a managed security services provider for customer premise equipment. Guarded Networks remotely managed customers' firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and networking equipment while providing centralized reporting via the BorderShield platform.
In 2001, Cybergnostic became the parent company of Perimeter Internetworking, a subsidiary focused on the financial industry. In 2004, Guarded Networks was acquired and the companies were aligned under the name Perimeter Internetworking While still legally Perimeter Internetworking, Perimeter's brand became represented as Perimeter E-Security.
In late July 2007, Goldman Sachs became the lead investor in Perimeter when it invested $50 million in the company. of sales
In August 2007, Perimeter announced the acquisition of Denver-based USA.NET, a provider of secure messaging services. Perimeter also acquired the following companies: Edgeos Inc., SECCAS, Message Secure, ANE Technologies, Breakwater Security Associates, Red Cliff Solutions, US Networks Inc., Guarded Networks, iReadyWorld Services, and Threat Management, LLC.
In 2009, Perimeter E-Security appointed Tim Harvey as CEO.
In January 2013, Perimeter E-Security rebranded under the name SilverSky
Other members of SilverSky’s Executive Management Team include: Richard Dobrow - President/Chief Operating Officer, Andy Lazarus - Chief Financial Officer, Andrew Jaquith - Chief Technology Officer, Randal Skipper - Executive Vice President of Global Sales, John Viega - Executive Vice President - Products and Engineering.
