A pencast is a digital form of written notes with integrated audio produced as a pencast PDF or online file format accessed through the Internet or mobile device. Pencasting is a technique that recor Lids audio while capturing everything you write or draw. A pencast is played as animated ink strokes with synchronized audio. A Livescribe smartpen is used to capture audio with its integrated microphone and link it to handwriting captured by an internal camera built into the tip of the smartpen. When the smartpen is connected to a computer the notes and audio are transferred to a desktop application and/or transferred as a pencast in various formats.
