Payfirma

Payfirma Corporation, commonly known as Payfirma, is a national Canadian payment processing and payment systems company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The company provides electronic payment transaction processing services to various sizes of businesses (public, private, and government) across North America. The company also develops mobile payment applications and payment gateway for integrated payment processing.
Background
Payfirma is an independent Canadian provider of electronic and mobile payment acceptance and financial technology solutions offering a full-range of credit card, mobile payment, eCommerce and integrated point-of-sale solutions. It was the first in Canada to launch a mobile payments system, similar to Square.com in the United States.
It was also the first payment processor in Canada built around the Code of Conduct for the Credit and Debit Card Industry, introduced in April 2010 by the Canadian Department of Finance.
Payfirma was founded by Michael Gokturk, founder and former CEO of payment processor VersaPay, along with other members of the leadership team.
As of December 2011, Payfirma processes more than $1 million per day in merchant transactions.
