Paul Dunay is a marketer working for the company AVAYA as Global Managing Director of Services Marketing. History Paul was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on October 15, 1963, he grew up in Englewood, N.J. His parents, Henry and Carol, both worked hard to establish one of the first American jewelry designer brand names - Henry Dunay. At age eight Paul understood the value of branding when his father told him he wanted to be “the Pierre Cardin of Jewelry.” Paul immediately grasped his father’s vision and began working in the business at age 10. Eventually after college, Paul joined the family business. He developed the company’s computer systems, programming a complete material resource planning (MRP) system (the predecessor to ERP) by hand in Dbase IV on a Unix platform. From there he branched out into branding, marketing, advertising, merchandising, licensing, and improving process efficiency in the business, all before age 30. Education Paul holds a Degree in Leadership from the Yale School of Management, a degree in Strategy and Innovation from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in marketing and computer science from Ithaca College. He is a Certified Green Belt in Six Sigma, a graduate of the Center for Creative Leadership and a Certified Toastmaster. Currently Caught up by the love of technology, Paul eventually left the family business to pursue his passion for technology and marketing. He landed major roles at , a leading branding, marketing and advertising firm (now part of Omnicom) and Scient (an ebusiness systems integration firm now part of Microsoft). He currently works for AVAYA as Global Managing Director of Services Marketing. Paul has created buzz for leading technology companies such as Google, IBM,Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Avaya and Cisco. He also has delivered work for American Express, Motorola, Genzyme, Novartis, Citigroup, Cendant and Ernst & Young. Paul’s approach to integrated marketing has earned him recognition as a 2007 and 2006 finalist and 2005 winner of the Driving New Demand award of the Information Technology Services Marketing Association (ITSMA). He also received BearingPoint's Best Overall Marketing Campaign Award in 2004. Paul is a frequent speaker, addressing forums organized by groups including the American Marketing Association (AMA), Bulldog Solutions, MarketingProfs, Marketing Sherpa, BtoB Magazine, ITSMA, the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Council, and Marketing Operations Management. His articles and research have appeared in CMO Magazine, InformationWeek, Marketing Sherpa, iMedia, and BtoB. Notable Feats He was chosen as one of BtoB's top marketers of the year in 2009. He has his own blog called Buzz Marketing for Technology which has over 5,000 daily readers and has written e-books which have been downloaded over 10,000 times. He wrote a book called Facebook Marketing for Dummies (ISBN 978-0-470-48762-4) published by Wiley Publishing Company. It is in its second printing and has sold over 7,500 copies. It was released in 2009. He has previously worked for BearingPoint and among other companies. He won the ITSMA Golden award in 2005 for his services to the marketing world.
