Patrick Treston

Patrick Treston (born Auckland 9 May 1946) LL.B (1970) Auck, is a New Zealand District Court Judge in Auckland.
Early life
Treston comes from Auckland and attended Ho;y Cross Convent and (1958-1964). He studied law at the University of Auckland (1965-1969) and practised law in Auckland (1970-1973), London (Greater London Council) (1973-74) and Whangarei for the Crown and general 1975-1987) before he was appointed as a District Court Judge.
Nautical interests
Treston has an interest and experience in nautical matters. He circumnavigated the Antarctic continent in the yacht Awahne in 1970-71. He was a competitior in Skinflint in the Sydney-Hobart Yacht Race in 1971 (in respect of which he published articles in Sea Spray magazine in 1971). In 1971 Treston sailed from New Zealand to South Africa in the yacht Windenzee.<ref name="whale"/>
