Patrick McGregor Fisher (born March 1st, 1985 in Washington, DC) is an American football punter for the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League. He played collegiately at Louisiana State University (LSU). High School Career Patrick Fisher attended DeMatha Catholic High School located in Hyattsville, Maryland. As a senior, Fisher averaged 49.6 yards per punt with a long of 68 yards. Fisher was a rare straight-on kicker that finished his career completing 13 of 16 field goals with a long of 43 yards. As a senior, Fisher kicked the game winning field goal of 36 yards in the WCAC (Washington Catholic Athletic Conference) against Our Lady of Good Counsel. Also, Fisher boomed 39 of 48 kickoffs for touchbacks. For his accomplishments, Fisher received numerous awards including USA Today Second Team All-American, The Washington Post 1 Team All-Met, Maryland 1 Team All-State, and George Michael Golden 11. Fisher graduated with honors from DeMatha Catholic High School in 2003 with a 3.2 GPA and 1410 on the SAT (out of possible 1600). College Career Fisher was a member of both the 2003 and 2007 LSU National Championship Teams. He served as LSU’s starting punter for one season (2007). When the season was complete, he led the SEC in punting with a 44.5 average and ranked 10th in the nation in punting. For his accomplishments, he was named to the first team All-SEC team. His 44.5 average ranks as the second-best single-season total in school history. He finished career with 65 total punts and with a 44.1 average. He graduated from LSU in December of 2007 with a degree in Mass Communications with a focus on Pulic Relations and a minor in Business. Senior Season (2007) Fisher earned first-team All-SEC honors from both the SEC Coaches and the AP after averaging a league-best 44.5 yards per punt as a senior in 2007. He ranked 10th in the nation in punt average during 2007. Fisher punted 50 yards or longer 22 times during the 2007 season, including a pair of 62 yarders against Ohio State in the BCS National Championship Game. Fisher averaged 56.7 yards on three punts vs. Ohio State. Fisher had big game against Tennessee in the SEC title contest, averaging 45.0 yards on four punts including a 58 and 54 yarder against the Vols. Professional Career 2008 In 2008, Fisher attended mini-camps as an undrafted free agent with the New York Jets and the Denver Broncos. Throughout the season, Fisher continued to work-out and improve as a punter. 2009 On August 10, 2009, Fisher was signed by the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League. Personal Patrick is the son of Peter and Mary Fisher. He has one brother, James. During his time as LSU, he spent three years as a student assistant in the LSU Sports Information Department. During the two weeks leading up to the BCS National Championship Game in 2007, he wrote a daily blog for LSUsports.net.
