AFC Raleigh

AFC Raleigh is a mult-sport athletic club from the Hayes Barton Historic District of Raleigh, NC. The club was founded in 1916 for test cricket, tennis, and soccer. The soccer team plays their home games at Barton Park which seats just over 7,100 and regularly gets sold out. WakeMed Soccer Park has played host to many memorable clashes including two games against rivals Columbia Farmworks and Olympique New Orleans which ended up in victories for Raleigh propelling them to the Southern Football League championships in 2002 and 2003.
History
Since than the cricket part of the club has been disbanded and replaced by men's and women's basketball, volleyball and track and field. The soccer team is the most well-recognized portion of the club having won the first four Southern Football League championships in 1921, 1922, 1923 and 1924. Since than the soccer team has added four more championships to its name bringing their total to 8 and making them one of the most respected and honoured teams in the league.
Indoor
The basketball and volleyball teams play at the the RBC Center in downtown or Old Raleigh. The baksetball team is also quite famous and respected. The team has on to Intercontinental Cup's in 1971 and 1988, along with ten Basketball Pro League championships. To the rest of the club, they volleyball team is relatively knew having only been founded in 1990. However this did not hold them back, winning five championships in the 1990s and 2000s including the 1995, 1997, 1998, 2000 and 2001 of the Volleyball Challenge League as well as winning two Meynard Cup's in 2002 and 2004. The club also has a futsal team which play in the American Futsal Division as well as having played in the famous international cup, Americas Futsal Challenge, with teams from nations such as Mexico, Uruguay, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Peru.
