Parkgate Press US is an independent digital publisher with headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. It publishes literary and crime fiction under the imprint Dionysus Books, non-fiction and academic books as F Street Books, and poetry as Prometheus Poetry. In addition to depositing at the Library of Congress and the British Library, titles are available in the Bodleian Library (Oxford), the Cambridge University Library (Cambridge, UK), the Trinity College Library (Dublin), the National Library of Scotland (Edinburgh) and the National Library of Wales (Aberystwyth). History The company was established as a partner-by-association with Lightning Source in May 2010 and publishes approximately one title per month with global distribution. The company is notable for printing all books on acid-free paper. Authors A print and digital publisher, Parkgate Press authors include economics and baseball writer Katharine E. Willers, novelist and English academic Matt Fullerty , Robert and Natalie Duffy (see Letters from the War), Turkish-American writer Engin Inel Holmstrom and poet and singer-songwriter Sam Taplin. Classic literature An expanding arm of the company, Parkgate Classics connects it to the history of classic literature - the publication of Jacob's Room by Virginia Woolf and The Beautiful and Damned by F Scott Fitzgerald. Re-released in 2012, these books will celebrate their 90th anniversary of first publication. Digital publishing As a user of new technology, the imprint Parkgate Digital commissions e-books in PDF for Nook, Sony e-Reader and Kindle. In 2012, Parkgate Digital plans to develop direct access to the Espresso Book Machine to reach customers direct in-store. Mission The company's mission is "to bring those titles to the marketplace which are often overlooked by mainstream publishers, works we believe have a distinctive voice and can reach a viable audience." Parkgate Press is a member of the Publishers Licensing Society, the Authors' Licensing and Collecting Society, the Copyright Clearance Center and the Public Lending Right. Parkgate UK Parkgate Press UK was established in April 2011 to work alongside Lightning Source UK.
