Dagan Books began publishing in 2010, and publishes both academic non-fiction and fiction works (specializing in Speculative and New Weird fiction). Thier first title, Cthulhurotica, was noted for bringing characters of color, and of a variety of genders and sexualities, to the Cthulhu Mythos in a positive way. Dagan Books a member of the Small Press Association of North America, the Independent Book Publishing Professionals Group, and Independent Speculative Fiction Publishers Association. Publisher and Chief Editor is Carrie Cuinn, an American writer. In March 2011, Dagan Books donated its February 2011 book sales to the American Red Cross to assist with relief efforts following the .
