Nand Huyghe (Landskouter Belgium, 25 May 1948), known under his pseudonym P.Nand.R , belongs to the Flemish sculptors from the second half of the 20th century. He makes especially assemblages in stone, bronze and polyester. Life and work P.Nand.R studied monumental arts at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent (Belgium), studied bronze sculpture at the High School of Art at Anderlecht (Belgium). In 1982 he joined the art collective "Sas" under the guidance of Roland Monteyne, and became his assistant. In 1986 he made a study concerning archaic signs, and he was touched by the psychological impact of traffic signs, of which colours and forms that automatically in the unconsciously conjure up responses of order, a call for prohibition and admission. Is publicity not based on the same principle? His experiments, used components of traffic signs and advertisement boards, and the whole range called playful: "Road Icon Art" He decided from this time on to work under the pseudonym of Publi Nand Ria. In 1988, his interest for archaic signs emerged when he realized that logotypes stand basically in a link. He tried to make a synthesis of his research and inscribed the combination of logotypes-archaic signs on the foundation of the unconscious impact, inherent to road signs and publicity panels and brought without beating about the bush the symbiosis on the street and called it Artvertising. He realized his project in the Shepherd-street at Zele (Belgium). The exhibition was to be visited day and night by the mobile public. PNR or P.Nand.R are pseudonyms and stand for the fictitious company name "Publi Nand Ria". In 1989, he created his last art object "complete food for nonsense" and made from this time on publicity for the brand "ART". Permanently shows his work on the Internet with the slogan CONSUMING IMAGES OF ART
