Ozan Boz

Ozan Boz is a Canadian musician, composer, arranger and record producer based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Boz is the producer of Minor Empire’s critically acclaimed, award-winning <ref name"folkawards.ca"/><ref name"indies.ca"/> album, Second Nature<ref name="collectionscanada.gc.ca"/>. While CBC Radio and Toronto Sun music columnist Errol Nazareth noted that "the CD marks an important way forward for Turkish and world music, in general.", David Dacks of ' magazine calls their debut Second Nature "successfully dreamy" and says "the record will leave you wanting to see the band live.",<ref name"exclaim.ca"/> and TJ Nelson of World Music Central describes the album as "bold, expertly worked and voluptuous."<ref name"worldmusiccentral.org"/>
His arrangements and productions have been referred to by critics as “brave”, “fresh”, “evocative” and “cinematic”<ref name"exclaim.ca"/><ref name"worldmusiccentral.org"/>. The German publication, FolkWorld, in describing his work says: “Ozan Boz touches no world music soup, he creates a dynamic virtuosity and masters the balance between electronic and acoustic instruments”<ref name="www.folkworld.de"/>.
He is also known for his textural electric guitar style for which he quotes Norwegian guitarist Eivind Aarset as his main influence. Ozan was featured on Identities<ref name"jazz.fm"/>, Jazz FM's award-winning documentary series. He has been nominated for “World Music Producer” award by 2018 Independent Music Awards<ref name"independentmusicawards.com"/>.
