Jonathan Austin Herald (born 14 November 1971) is an Australian orthopedic and sports medicine surgeon. He has promoted patient-centric medicine where patients are more involved in their own clinical decision making process. Medical career He is the first surgeon in Australia to perform an experimental shoulder graft patch procedure for torn rotator cuffs, allowing the tendons to be securely sutured. He is also noted for his observations on the increase in technology-related symptoms in the neck, shoulder or upper limbs aggravated by texting and using technology. Herald has served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Orthopaedic Case Reports.
