Burning Sensation in Throat

Burning Sensation in Throat, is an extremely painful annoying sensation that bothers the patient and produce difficulties in daily life.
Causes
The main causes include.
Gastric Reflux.
Stomach acidosis.
Tumor in any part of alimentary canal.
Laryngitis o pharyngitis(Chronic).
Tumor in Respiratory pathway including Larynx,Pharynx.
Inflamation of Glottis,epiglottis o viral infection.
Over use of vocal cords.
Adverse Reaction or over use of Medicine such as Antiallergic,Antiacid.
Signs and Symptoms
Patients may feel uneasiness,fever,pain when swallowing,general malaise and some time difficulty when speaking o hoarsness o low pitch sound and a permanent irritation in throat.
Differential Diagnosis
The patient should be examined entirely fron Gastric Reflux to Laryngeal tumor.Some time patients
fail to describe his condition accurately , so it would be the responsibilty of doctor to examine him throughly and if patient do not feel any disturbance in his stomach, it should be evaluated for any type of tumor in upper respiratory tract
The complementary Exam and Laboratory Test
X-ray of stomach and all part of alimentary canal.
X-ray of thorax.
Laryngoscopy in case of hoarseness and respiratory problem.

Endoscopy of digestive tract.
Biopsy should be done after endoscopy or laryngoscopy for abnormal cell division or any viral infection.
Treatment
In case of stomach problem such as acid reflux and gastritis patient should be administered with antiacid such as antihistamine for H-1 and H-2 receptor. For H-1 , use Cimetidine , Ranitidine and if there is ulceration then can be used Omeprazole for H-2 receptor and antiparasitic such as Metronidazole are drugs of choice and some analgesic such as
Paracetamol,Metamizole(Dipyrone) and Ibuprofeno to attenute the burning o pain symptoms. If pain o burning persist patients should be evaluated for any tumor o cancer in upper respiratory tract o in digestive tract.
