Mircea Aurel Ciugudean, Ph.D. Engineering (born June 25, 1940 in , Alba County, Romania) is a Romanian electronics professor, author and musician. He was a founder of the Electronics and Telecommunications Program at the , Romania, and the first dean of that faculty. His development of the curriculum there included prolific authorship of textbooks and student guides for the university, and he has also written several self-published books about related subject material—a total of more than 30 books. Although Ciugudean retired from full-time academia in 2006, he still lives in with wife Vioara (née Toth), remains a consultant to the "Politehnica", and continues his writings. A classical music aficionado, Ciugudean is involved in ongoing songwriting competitions as a composer and in concerts as a singer of his own material. In October 2007 he received an award for his original classical composition entry at the 40th Annual Crizantema de Aur (Golden Chrysanthemum) festival, a Romanian national event held in .
