Oxford Martial Arts Academy

The Oxford Martial Arts Academy (OMAA) is a limited company in England & Wales that provides training in a variety of Martial Arts, including Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, and MMA Brazilian Vale Tudo. It is the only Martial Arts Academy in Oxford of its type and the only venue with a full sized 20ft professional ring.

Notable instructors include Alemao (real name Luciano Pereira; Former Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Champion; Professional Muay Thai (ISKA)[http://www.iska.com(ISKA)] Champion of South America.) and Des Brackett (Irish ABA Light Middleweight Finalist; protagonist in UK Film “Blue Blood”; Oxford University’s Boxing Head Coach). The Oxford Times described Des Brackett as “Oxford's toughest tutor”.

OMAA was established in 2008 with the intention to “provide outstanding training in the martial arts, recruit and develop talent, and promote the values of respect, discipline, innovation and self-control.” The company is also involved in community work and crime prevention.

Community Work

OMAA works with Oxford Council's youth workers to improve Oxford and give would-be young offenders an alternative to crime. OMAA Director Tim Lalic emphasized in an online interview with Incorpolis that " educational philosophy strives to form not only champions in the ring, but also champions in the community."
