Orchid Society of Bangladesh

The Orchid Society of Bangladesh is an association of people in Bangladesh who who grow orchids as a hobby.
It was established in 1989 by Mrs Naseem Iqbal and Major A M M Iqbal Ali.It started with only 8 orchids and now it has about 17'409 orchids.Dendrobiums are the most common it also has many oncidiums, vandas, phalaenopsis, arandas and cattleyas
The society's aim is to popularise orchids among the public, so that people who resides in flats can have a mini garden in their balcony.
It holds an annual orchid show in September. Currently in 2014 the Orchid Society of Bangladesh has 44 members.
Mrs Naseem Iqbal is the president.
