OnStream Networks

OnStream Networks was a Santa Clara, California-based supplier of Circuit Emulation Service (CES) based Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) solutions. It was formerly T3Plus.
The company developed and manufactured ATM Multiplexers. CPE interfaces consisted of CES, Frame Relay, V.35, HSSI, Ethernet, and Optical Interfaces. ATM WAN interfaces consisted DS1/E1, IMA (N x DS1/E1), DS3/E3, and STM-1 Interfaces. Per VCC Priority Queuing, shaping and policing features were implemented. In addition there was a Bulk Traffic Shaping feature that was available.
They used the AAL1gator designed by Network Synthesis and acquired by Integrated Telecom Technology (later acquired by PMC-Sierra) to implement their CES solution.
Their office was on Octavius Drive in Santa Clara, California. Jim Mongiello was the President and CEO. Ken Koenig was the V.P. of Engineering. Mitri Halabi and John Guerrero were Engineering Directors. Randy Brumfield was a Director of Marketing. Cem Yildrim and Jim Jacobson were lead engineers.
OnStream was acquired by 3Com, also of Santa Clara, in 1996 for $254M.
