Oneflare.com.au, previously PickAQuote.com.au, is a local service marketplace that was launched in January 2011 by co-founders, Marcus Lim and Adam Dong. Oneflare allows service providers and consumers to find each other and negotiate jobs online. CEO, Marcus Lim, stated the new online service was created to improve efficiency in hiring local service providers, with a transparent feedback system encouraging customers to leave online reviews and ratings. In June 2011, Oneflare launched a patented iPhone application that allows users to measure physical objects with their iPhone and attach it as part of their job request..
Growth and Development
The site now sees over 130,000 visitors each month and more than $16 million worth of job requests since its launch in 2011..
In July, 2013, Oneflare announced that they had secured $500,000 from Australian investors, Les Szekely from Grand Prix Capital, Garry Visontay of Principal Sydney Seed Fund, and Dr. Jeffrey Tobias of the Strategy Group. Ambitions
Since its launch in early 2011, Oneflare has over 30,000 registered businesses and has brokered over $16m worth of home services jobs across Australia. Inspired by the SEEK online model, Oneflare is looking to eventually replace the Yellow Pages and traditional online directory model.
