Adrian Camilleri

Adrian Camilleri from Edgecliff in Sydney is an Australian Finance broker, who was sentenced to nine months jail, plus 12 months parole for knowingly pocketing an investment of AU$123,441 loan by Brisbane investors, Winton and Charmaine Taylor, made with his collapsed loan company Asset Finance Services in 2005.
Sentencing
Following a Australian Securities and Investments Commission a Jury found Adrian Camilleri guilty of failing to inform the Taylors he had their money in his company's account, spending it before they realised it had been deposited in error.
While giving his sentencing, Judge Colin Charteris described the disgraced finance broker as a "man of straw" who had lived "hand-to-mouth" financially, wrongly using investors' funds as his own.
The Sydney District Court was told Camilleri used the Taylors' loan to fund his personal lifestyle, to lavish, Australian Model, Miranda Kerr, with whom he was engaged to at the time, with gifts, including buying Kerr business-class tickets to New York, where she pursued her modelling career.
It was also revealed that Kerr's mother, Therese had received commissions for introducing investors to Asset Finance Services, including the Taylors, who eventually lost their money.
