OMICS Group Inc., (known as OMICS International and OMICS Group) is a multi-segment company based in Hyderabad. OMICS Publishing Group OMICS Publishing Group is one of its subsidiary company in publishing business, the proliferative publisher claiming 350 journals and 5 Million readers in March, 2014; and 700 journals in August 2015. In August 2015 ABCRadioNational counted over 200 Australian academics on their editorial boards. But it's unclear how many of them—if any at all—do any work for OMICS and reported that out of 700 journals, half of them are defunct, and the rest are suffering a credibility problem. The modus operandi of this publishing company received controversies from academics and named as predatory publisher. OMICS International conferences This group conducts conferences in Medical, Pharma, Engineering, Business Conferences worldwide. OMICS International listed about 650 conferences to be conducted in 2016. The group did about 180 Conferences in 2015 and 90 conferences in 2014 . Conference registration fee ranges from $49 to $1099 . They are doing conferences in collaboration with others organizations and providing poster awards to students. The Group is conducting education fairs for students to join in USA and other foreign Universities in Association with Indus Foundation Inc, and also conducted healthcare & Pharma events in association with Government of Telangana, Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council and Federation of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce. Jeffrey Beall commented the group is moving from predatory journals to predatory meetings on his blog. Investments & Tie ups OMICS Group did $1 Million dollars investment into Meraevents, event management services and ticketing company. US-based eMedEvents Corporation, an online medical conference information and speaker platform serving medical education needs of doctors, has got $1.25 million investment and strategic tie-up with OMICS International.
