The Ohio State University shooting occurred on 9 March 2010 when an armed man opened fire at Ohio State University, killing an employee and wounding two others. Gunman The shooter was 51-year-old Nathaniel Brown, who had recently been informed that he would be fired on March 13 after an "unsatisfactory" job evaluation. Shooting The shooting happened at 3:30 a.m. local time when Brown, armed with two handguns, entered a maintenance building with six people inside and opened fire, causing three casualties. No others were hit. Early reports indicated that Brown had committed suicide, but it was confirmed by police that he had been taken into custody. Victims Building Service Manager Larry Wallington, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other employees were wounded and taken to hospital. Operations Shift Leader Henry Butler was declared to be in stable condition while another employee was declared to be in critical condition.
