2010 British Columbia avalanche

The 2010 British Columbia avalanche or Revelstoke avalanche occurred on March 13, 2010, at around 3:30 pm PST (23:30 UTC) on Boulder Mountain, near Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada. While police initially reported three deaths, on March 14, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed two deaths. Around 30 people were injured, with 1 in critical condition, 3 in serious condition; 19 were released from hospital by March 14. Around 200 people were on the mountain participating or watching a snowmobile event.
Nearby Mount Copeland is the site of the highest recorded snowfall in North America in one season (July 1, 1971-June 30, 1972).
