Midget House

Midget house is a sub genre of House music which in itself falls amongst many styles of electronic dance music.
The term originally coined by the celebrated London based Italian producer Stefano Ritteri, AKA Solo as a joke amongst friends. This term has since been taken on by lovers of this particular style of house music as a descriptive but fun way of describing the distinct style of a similar house music sound.
The style itself incorporates a large use of percussion, interesting , world music and a generally cheeky attitude towards a more serious house scene but without losing the raw groove that is generally associated with the original house music sounds.
Many fans of the style also associate the given name of midget house as a combination of two separate sub genres of house music, fidget house and minimal house. This is thought to be as a direct backlash to the sudden popularity of a very bass and "wobble" heavy form of fidget house music in the mid 2000s that was accused of taking the cleaner house music groove away from the nightclub dance floors.
