History
Northern Storm Football & Sports Club was established in February 1994 as Korora Soccer and Sports Club Inc. However, the name was changed in 2004, at which point the York Street playing fields began to be used in conjunction with the already-used Plantain Road Oval in Korora. Through the years the club has gone from strength to strength and risen to their current position as the second largest club on the north coast of NSW (out of 24 clubs).
The club’s Men’s First Division and Women’s First Division teams have achieved mixed successes in recent years. However, the club have recently gained the services of Rob Harbour (taking over from Ian Glover as coach of the Men’s First Division team) and Rob Manning (incoming coach of the Women's First Division team). The team's home ground, York Street Oval, underwent a significant upgrade in drainage in 2003.
The 2007 season was the club's most successful so far. The Men's 1st Division side placed 3rd in the regular season , losing 3-1 to Sawtell Scorpions in the Minor Semi-Final. The Men's Reserve Grade side were runners up in the regular season , and lost 6-5 on penalties to Urunga Raiders in the semi-final.
