North Canberra Gungahlin Cricket Club

North Canberra Gungahlin Cricket Club is an Australian club that participates in the ACTCA grade competition. It has six mens teams and 2 womens teams. It is known for producing elite cricketers including Jordan Dang and Myron Meates. Last season, their only success was in the mens 3rd grade one day comp and the women's comp. With talent coming through the juniors, with the likes of Andy Palm, Simon Dowd and Sean Cattermole all making the transition to the grade competition the future of the club looks very bright. They are proudly sponsored by the great tradies club, which helps with the success at the club. Some notable players in the club history are Pete Nelson, Ahmed, Thomas Langerton, Cameron Kirby and Sir Joseph York. In 2010/11 the club had its best year in over 20 years, winning the ACTCA Club championship, with the club winning the 3rd grade one day final and the fourth grade two day final. The second grade and third grade two day teams both made the grand final, however could not defeat their respected oppositon On 13 Sepmtember 2011, it was reported that Chris Cairns would be playing for the mighty eagles in the 2011/12 season, arguably the biggest signing in the clubs history.
