Nisha JamVwal

Nisha JamVwal (born 2 May 1978) runs Nisha JamVwal Design from 1999 until the present. She started her career in Paris and later in Japan in 1999, working in design, art and fashion roles in different countries. In 2006, she was appointed Luxury Consultant for Diageo, Calsberg . She worked freelance with Natures Basket, Swarovski, the Intercontinental Group, Lancome, Natuzzi Sofa, Splendor Furnishings. Nisha is a writer and columnist since 1994 and has contributed to Indian spreadsheet Mid-Day; Indian Express; Hindustan Times; DNA and the daily Times of India. At present she is on the editorial board of Good Homes by Times of India Network, where she writes two columns. She contributes a relationship column to Asian Age . She writes the Lifestyle column for Hindustan Times Luxe and her authors a blog .
Early life
Nisha was born in Mumbai in 1978. She studied English Literature from the Hindu College, Delhi University and later specialised in Interior Architecture, Space Planning, Art History from The Brooks College of Design, California. She has worked in Japan, Australia, Los Angeles and Paris
Career
Nisha is a professionally trained Interiors Architect who has designed the Jaipur Airport Lounge, Bar
and Restaurant and celebrity homes in India
Nisha works as a Luxury Consultant with Zoya by The TATA Group Nisha authored book ‘Iconic & Narrative Symphonies In Stone’ , a story of the craft of gemstone carving. It speaks of development and evolution of gemstone sculpture in India
She wrote 'PARAMPARIK KARIGAR‘ a book of the Indian crafts to educate readers to save Indian Craft from extinction. Nisha Is On the Advisory Board of the interiors magazine- Good Homes where she writes the celebrity column. She is the celebrity lifestyle columnist for Youth Inc . She has been a Fashion Editor for Salaam Mumbai, Guest Editor Perfect 10 and columnist for Femina
Nisha worked as Television compere and Anchor . She hosted 'Home Shanti Home' 36 episodes on Star One visiting celebrity homes, actors, politicians, artists interviewing them on lifestyle , anchor for TV show 'MeriSaheli'  where she highlighted spaces of a home with DIY TIPS and refurbishment; ‘Red Hot Countdown’ for Zoom. Nisha appeared in Madhur Bhandarkar's ‘Page 3’ & ‘Fashion’ as herself in a cameo . Nisha has been a guest speaker at women's organization FLO ; INDUS; HINDUSTAN LEVER WOMANS ASSOCIATION; and ROTRARY BOMBAY
Awards
Nisha received the 'Women's Achievers Award' from the 'World Women Leadership Congress' on February the 15th, 2014 for her outstanding career performance and CSR work by Dr.R.L. Bhatia on World CSR Day .
