Nikolay Sergeyevich Borisov

Nikolay Sergeyevich Borisov () (born 29 July 1952) is a Russian historian whose specialty is the history of medieval Russia. A graduate of Moscow State University he holds the chair of Russian history until the XIV century at Moscow State University. In 1999 Borisov received the Mitropolitan Macarius Prize, 3-d degree, for the book "Politics of Moscow princes. Late XIII to mid-XIV centuries". Borisov was also a nominee for the 2005 Alexander Nevsky All-Russia History and Literature Prize for the book Sergius of Radonezh. In 2008 he was also a candidate for election as a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Borisov received a prize For the best biography published in the series "Life of Remarkable People" from Molodaya Gvardiya, the publisher of his book.
