Nicole Ann Carpenter, or Nikki for short was a recurring fictional character in the American television series MacGyver, played by actress Elyssa Davalos. Biography Born May 5, 1959, she served as a private investigator, meeting MacGyver when her brother was killed in a hit-and-run during an investigation upon meeting with Mac. She was later hired by the Phoenix Foundation by Peter Thornton, and frequently assisted MacGyver in his missions. She was previously married until her husband was killed. She lived alone in Los Angeles, and on more than one occasion was the victim of a break-in, related to cases she was involved with at the time. Personality Headstrong, confident, and a bit of a loner, she and MacGyver often locked horns during their escapades together, but respected each other on a professional level. After their initial meeting (which resulted in her having MacGyver arrested on suspicion of car theft), they worked together to capture the individuals that killed her brother, who was also Mac's friend. When Peter Thornton hired her for the Phoenix Foundation, MacGyver expressed his disdain, and neither he nor Nikki relished the idea of working together. Pete often had to act as a mediator to get the two to cooperate. Despite her tough exterior, she would often confide in MacGyver, especially when she felt her life was in danger. See Also
