Nick powell

Nicci-Ross "Nick" Powell (born October 23, 1991) is an English theatre actor and Director. Powell currently works in Belgrade Theatre and previously performed at BBC Coventry & Warwickshire, gained notice in 2005 when he first came out with a best director oscar award by directing and acting in BBC Coventry & Warwickshire production called BBC Blast. Which was a comedy news programme which was created by art co-ordinator, Siobhan Harrison. In 2006 Powell auditioned for an acting group called "Routes" at Belgrade Theatre and was directed by actor and director Sylvester Williams who played Mick McFarlane<ref name="Mick McFarlane"/> in Eastenders. After a few months "Routes" was closed down due to low funds for the group. Powell went back to Belgrade Theatre in 2009 and joined the acting youth group called "Acting Up" with Director Leon Phillips and Associate Director Justine Themen for the "Acting Up" youth group.
Early Life
Powell was born in Glasgow, Scotland and left Scotland in 1997 with his mother Rosemary O'neill (Born in Glasgow, Scotland March 7, 1961) due to his Grandmother being ill in Walsgrave University Hospital. Rosemary O'neill has four other children (Mark James O'neill Aged: 30) (Charlene Scarlet Moore, 28) (Richard Hugh O'neill Aged:26) and (Carolann Moore Aged:24). Since Powell attended secondary school and studied Drama with Drama Lecturer Miss Sykes, Powell performed a school play called "What's Next?.." which was about a boy being accused of murdering his mate then finding out at the end of the play is was her other mate. After leaving Ernesford Grange Community School Powell went to study at City College College (Maxwell centre and Swanswell south building) doing Introductory Diploma BTEC level 1 Performing Arts for a 1 year course then studied TV Prodution and Radio Media BTEC Level 1 First Diploma for another year. Powell also volunteered at Belgrade Theatre as a "Shadow Stage Manager" in 2010 helping the Stage Manager (Stephan Cooke A.K.A Steve Cressy) and Assistant Stage Manager (Hannan Finnegan)to set up The Beauty and the Beast Pantomime. Powell is also a 3rd cousin to Scottish singer Marie McDonald McLaughlin Lawrie also known as Lulu.
Early Career
In 2005 Nick Powell first started at BBC Coventry & Warwickshire and performed and partly directed "BBC Blast" and won a Best Director Oscar Award. Which was about BBC News, arts co-ordinator Siobhan Harrison created it to be a comedy news which means a news reporter played by (Lisa Dryburgh aged: 21) who would go out, meet the public and asking them if they believe Coventry is a safe place. Whilst the performers would perform a pretend fight in the background. BBC Blast was released a few weeks after they performed it.
In 2007 Nick played apart as in "High School Musical" at Ernesford Grange Community College as a character named Alan who auditions for a part of the end of the year dance and singing performance which was directed by Drama Lecturer Miss Sykes.
In 2008 Powell performed "What If?.." at Ernesford Grange Community College which was directed by drama student (Shannon Lindsey aged: 19) which was about a man performed by (Daniel Paine Aged:19) who was lead to believe he killed his best mate. At the end of the play he found out it was the girls, girl mate who was played by (Leanne Gallagher aged: 19).
Nick Powell also performed a "Showcase Craze" at City College Coventry in 2009 which was a mixture of singing, acting and dancing. That was lectured by Dance Teacher Michelle Keegan, Acting Teacher Gary Lincoln and Kara Barrett.
In 2009 Nick performed as Baal in "The Fall of Lucifer" for "Unravel the Mysteries" at Belgrade Theatre which was written in our own words on how Lucifer became the devil. Which was directed by theatre director Leon Phillips and associate director Justine Themen.
In 2009 Powell performed the dad in "Murder Mysteries" at Belgrade Theatre which was about a dad who believed one out of two daughters was on drugs and beat her up and killed her then found out his other daughter was pregnant and he was the father, this was directed by Nick Powell.
Nick Powell will be returning to Belgrade Theatre in June 2011 to rehearse his next play for the summer holidays.
Personal Life
Powell is in a relationship with Daventry College Arts Technician, Daniel Joseph Toomey aged: 21 who are planning on getting married in 2013.
Other Activities
Nick Powell is into a lot of outdoor activities such as (Absailing, canoeing, zip wire and much more) also a big supporter of alsorts of charities and volunteered in 7 different charity shops such as (P.D.S.A, Sense, Cancer Research, Y.M.C.A, Oxfam, Scope and Cats Protection)
