Deontez Lockett

Anthony is an American Actor, Singer and Dancer invold in stage and screen. Has been acting since he was in the 3rd grade. He has been in 10 musicals, 4 plays and 3 operas. He has been blessed to work with singers and actors like Tony Award and Emmy award winning actress and singer Leslie Uggams, Lisa Vroman(known for her role of Christine in The Phantom of the Opera for two years in New York and five years in San Francisco) and Ron Raines(best known for the role of Alan Spaulding on the long-running soap, Guiding Light). And Opera singers Noah Stewart, Francessca Patane’ Burak Bilgill.
Biography
Anthony Lockett was born in Detroit, Michiganto Myia Falls and Anthony Lockett on March 23, 1992. As a child Anthony was known for singing and acting out commercials on T.V. Anthony was born and raised around the metro Detroit area. He attended Fairbanks Elementary and that’s when he seen his first play The Three Musketeers the actors gave a Q and A to the students after the performance. Anthony raised his hand and was the only one who asked what was it called that they were doing. The leading actor laugh and said they were acting, and from that day on he knew he wanted to be an actor. The next year he stared in his school play titled “Fantasy” as the Big Bad Wolf and Prince Charming. And took Orchestra playing the Violin His Parents begin to realized his talent and started put him in better school’s.
In 2002 his Family moved to Southfield, Michigan where he participated in the school dance squad. One day Southfield High School came to the school and perform the musical The Wiz. And That moment that’s when his Broadway dream was in affect on Monday he sign up for the school choir as a tenor and a bass.
In 2003 Anthony moved to a small town in Michigan called Dearborn also the city where the great Henry Ford was raised . That’s where his career as a actor started. In 6th grade Anthony Audition for the all boys choir and six days later was accepted into the choir. One day while walking down the hall Anthony was singing the song singing in the rain where the casting director of the school musical Guys and Dolls heard his voice. He cast him into the musical as the understudy of Sky Masterson and played the smooth talking, crap shooting Big Julie. The next year the music department was cut short and only had band at the school that’s when he learned how to play the trombone. He stop singing and start playing the trombone and played sports (football, swimming, and track).In 8th he meet back with his first true love Music and start back sing under the direction of Ann Marie Rose. When he graduated from 8th grade he received the Unsung Hero Award for Performing Arts Skills and Academics.
In 2006 He went to Edsel Ford High School he was very scared new friends, teachers, and better singers and actors. One day while working in class he seen the ad for Wizard of Oz he was so scared to tryout so he decided that he worked the sound system instead .He worked with an amazing creative team Director Michelle Hurst , Producer/ Music Director Robert Doyle and Ms Tricia Voelkner. One Rehearsal one of the Chorus members went ill and The director of the show asked Anthony would he like to try out the role as a Winkie and a Chorus member he took the role. That same year The play And Then There Were None was casting parts and needed actors at Edsel he was turned down for the part he was sad but he went back to the soundboards and ran sound for the show. In May he audition for the school Honor Choir (the Vocal Ensemble) and was accepted as a bass. The next year musical was Little Shop of Horrors he practice and practice for the role of the plant from outer space, but once again he was turned down for the role he cried because of the results but he made sure that he went to every rehearsal on time. Then a minor role was presented to him skip snip. A few days after the show was done. He was told that this would be his last semester in the school.
In 2008 after leaving Edsel he was sent to audition for Cherry Hill School of the Performing Arts. He got into the school, Two months went by Anthony stop singing, acting and playing any instruments. One day an poster was made that a play called voices (written by one of the teachers of the school)was giving a casting call Anthony went just to try it and received the Lead role as Malcolm X and Booker T Washington. After his talent was shown to the school, the performing arts director asked him did he have any other talent. He then played the trombone for her. At Cherry hill he learned how to play some piano and the trombone. The assistant director asked him to audition for The Wiz in concert in which he did and received the part of the lion.
In 2009 was a breakthrough year for him, he was then transfer to henry ford academy where he landed the lead role as the Dad in the Dramatic play Family Album. During the rehearsals for the play he received an e-mail that would change his life. Anthony would play in the world famous opera Carmen for Michigan Opera Theatre. He finished with the show and then did a tour with them. when Anthony got back home he received a letter saying that he was nominated for 5 awards at a Honors Convocation. At Honors Convocation at the Henry Ford in Dearborn, Anthony took home all 5 awards including Best Theater Actor.
In 2010 Deontez will be filming a Documentary in his home town if Detroit, called "Equal in America".
The Ring Of Fate
Anthony wrote, directed and produced a play called The Ring Of Fate. On November 6, 2009 The curtin went up on the production and it was featured in the Press as a "Smash Hit" and Anthony was said that Antony was a "Star that was just Born"
